The Directorate of Civil Status, Passports, and Residency in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced the halt of the Visa on Arrival system, which also applies to citizens of the European Union, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Japan, Switzerland, and New Zealand.

The directorate confirmed that this change, which will take effect on March 21, will require travelers to apply for an electronic entry visa at Baghdad International Airport. Applicants must complete a form via an electronic link provided by the authorities before meeting all the requirements for obtaining an electronic visa.

The directorate emphasized its readiness to receive applications and issue electronic visas to travelers promptly. It also urged airlines to ensure that passengers arriving in Iraq have secured the required visa.

The directorate highlighted the importance of airline companies and offices operating at Baghdad International Airport adhering to this decision and stressed that no passenger will be allowed to board flights to Iraq without prior electronic visa approval. - (RT)
