AMMAN — The Swedish Migration Agency is looking into the
possible revocation of the temporary visa of Iraqi Silwan Momica, who gained
notoriety and fame for
burning the Quran. His temporary visa is expected to end
in April 2024.

Through burning the
Quran outside Stockholm's Central Mosque
in June, and his subsequent threat to burn the holy Book outside the Iraqi
Embassy in Stockholm in July, he has received condemnation from Muslims
worldwide, Al-Mamlaka TV reported.
His actions created much international pressure on the
government of Sweden and its prime minister, Ulf Kristersson, to reform the law
regarding the burning of holy books including the
Bible and Torah. Meanwhile many
also wish to maintain the law in favor of freedom of expression.
