This marks the first time Israeli troops entered Jenin since its major operation that was launched on the West Bank in July.
According to military sources, Israeli elite forces entered the West Bank city to conduct arrests based on gathered intelligence rather than this being a widespread arrest operation.
Soldiers from the Golani and Duvdevan units arrested several wanted persons in the refugee camp, according to Ynet news.
Al-Quds Brigades-Jenin Brigade claimed that "our operatives noticed a special IDF force on the outskirts of the camp and shot at it."
Drones were used and there were injuries among the Palestinians, but Israeli forces were forced to withdraw.
