Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated on Friday that Israeli forces are paying a heavy price for their military successes against the Palestinian "Hamas" movement in the Gaza Strip.

Gallant added on X (formerly Twitter) that "thousands of soldiers from the regular Israeli army and reserve soldiers are currently fighting heroically in Gaza to free hostages and destroy Hamas terrorists."
The Defense Minister continued, "The achievements are great, but nevertheless, the risks are high, and the price is steep."
This statement came after the Israeli military confirmed that a soldier was killed during fighting on Thursday, while another soldier was seriously injured on Friday.
Gallant said, "All Israeli citizens must embrace and strengthen the Israeli army's leaders and soldiers and pray for their safety and success."
The Israeli military reports that 400 soldiers have been killed in the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
