The forces also raided the reception site for recently released prisoner Abdullah Amayreh in Dura, destroying its contents, assaulting his family, and dispersing the crowd of well-wishers.
Heavy gunfire, stun grenades, and flares were used as Israeli patrols spread throughout the city. The forces set up checkpoints and forced shop owners to close before eventually withdrawing.
According to Al Jazeera, one Palestinian was injured by Israeli gunfire and another arrested in the Umm Al-Sharayet neighborhood of Al-Bireh following confrontations between Palestinian youth and occupation forces, who fired live rounds indiscriminately.
Israeli forces had entered the neighborhood, spread through its alleys, and raided several shops, a wedding hall, and residential homes.
In a separate incident, Israeli forces also stormed Al-Ein refugee camp west of Nablus. Sources reported that residents were forced out of their homes, and a residential building was turned into a military outpost. Foot patrols roamed between homes while drones hovered above the camp.
The Israeli military also assaulted several Palestinian and international journalists covering the raid on Al-Ein camp. Palestinian sources said the journalists were prevented from approaching or filming near the camp.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces began constructing a two-kilometer-long security fence on lands belonging to the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank.
Last August, Israeli authorities issued a military order to confiscate more land from the towns of Sinjil and Turmus Ayya to modify the route of the security fence. In February, the occupation bulldozed approximately 29 dunams (about 7.2 acres) of land from these towns, seizing it and preventing Palestinian farmers from accessing their farmland beyond the fence.
Parallel to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers have escalated their assaults in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the killing of over 958 Palestinians, the injury of nearly 7,000, and more than 16,400 arrests, according to Palestinian reports.
