The Israeli army chief of staff said that his forces would enter wherever and whenever they wanted and whenever necessary, and that "whoever escaped today, we will find him tomorrow.”
For his part, the Israeli army spokesman said that Tel Aviv will end the operation in Jenin only when it achieves the objectives set by the intelligence, media sources reported.
On Sunday night, Israel launched a large-scale military operation, the largest since 2002 in Jenin camp under the pretext of purging it of Palestinian militants.
An armored brigade was sent, and the army used marches and planes that bombed targets in the crowded camp.
Bulldozers were also used to clear the roads for fear of roadside explosives. The army claimed the discovery of tunnels and factories for making explosive devices. 11 Palestinians were killed and hundreds injured with 3,000 residents of the camp displaced, which suffered great damage to its infrastructure.
Observers say that Israel failed to achieve its goals, as the confrontations with the Palestinian militants continued until late hours of Tuesday evening. The Red Cross said that Israel prevented medical staff from reaching the wounded, and the Palestinian Authority described what happened as a war crime.
Meanwhile, Palestinian sources reported renewed fighting inside the camp later Tuesday night. They said Israeli drones targeted civilians at a cemetery which killed one and injured three.
Reuters reported that the UN Security Council will meet Friday to discuss the situation in the West Bank.
