RAMALLAH, Palestinian Territories —
Israeli occupation forces shot and killed two Palestinians, including a doctor, on
Friday, in the West Bank city of Jenin, the Palestinian health ministry said. Hours later Israeli forces killed a Palestinian
youth.

Dr Abdullah Al-Ahmad “succumbed to a bullet wound
that pierced his head, fired by the occupation (Israeli) soldiers”, the
ministry said in a statement following the earlier incident.
A ministry spokesman told AFP that another
Palestinian, Mateen Debaya, was also killed in the raid on the city’s refugee
camp, with five others wounded.
The ministry said Ahmad was shot outside a
government hospital, located on the edge of the camp.
An AFP journalist said the doctor underwent
emergency surgery at the facility following the shooting.
The Palestinian news agency, Wafa, said Prime
Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh was mourning the doctor “shot dead by Israeli forces
while he was trying to rescue casualties”.
Crowds of mourners gathered for the separate
funerals of the two men, whose bodies were carried through the streets.
Third Palestinian killed
Qais Imad Shajayyeh, 23, was
shot and killed by Israeli gunfire near Ramallah, Wafa reported.
The health ministry confirmed his death, and told
Wafa that Israeli forces had “withheld the body”, a common tactic employed by
Israel.
Israeli forces raided Shajayyeh’s home in Deir Jarir,
east of Ramallah, and had arrested three.
Israeli escalation
Israeli occupation forces
have killed dozens of
Palestinians in recent months during near daily raids
across the West Bank.
Those killed include civilians, such as
Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was shot in May while
covering an army raid in Jenin.
Two Palestinian teenagers were shot dead last
Saturday during a raid in Jenin, while a 12-year-old boy died Monday from
wounds sustained last month, according to a health ministry toll.
Israel escalated its violence in the West Bank in
March of this year, and more than 150 Palestinians have been killed since
January.
