AMMAN — According to a report published in the Hebrew
newspaper "Israel Today," the current Israeli government has
significantly increased the number of settlement units approved for
construction in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem.

Over the past six months, a staggering 13,000 settlement
units have received approval — a rate that is twice as high as previous
governments.
The newspaper highlighted this development as a major shift
in settlement construction policy.
On Wednesday, Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich announced
the construction of 1,000 settlement units in the Eili settlement, followed by
another 4,500 units in different settlements just a few days ago.
In a related move, the Israeli government has also taken
steps to streamline the approval procedures for future settlement construction.
This decision, made earlier this week, aims to facilitate the construction of
even more settlement units in the coming months.
