Israel’s National Emergency Management Authority
(NEMA) and the Israel Meteorological Service forecast two intense heat waves
each month during the summer, lasting three to four days each.
The
highest temperatures will likely hit
Jordan Valley region.
NEMA and the Israel Meteorological Service are
attributing the expected heat waves to the effects of global climate change,
according to a joint announcement on Sunday.
The two agencies have been working to prepare for
extreme weather like floods, fires, and heat waves due to the global climate
crisis.
