BAGHDAD — His Majesty King Abdullah and Iraqi
President Barham Salih, during a meeting in Baghdad on Saturday, discussed
means of bolstering bilateral cooperation, according to a Royal Court
statement.

The two leaders expressed pride in the deep-rooted ties
between the two countries and peoples.
King Abdullah reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Iraq’s
government and people, lauding the country’s success in hosting the Baghdad
Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.
His Majesty underscored Iraq’s central role in the region,
noting that the conference is in line with Iraqi efforts to enhance regional
cooperation to bolster stability and prosperity.
Also on Saturday, His Majesty met with French President
Emmanuel Macron.
The two leaders stressed the importance of maintaining
coordination and consultation on various issues of mutual concern, as well as
bolstering cooperation in all fields.
King Abdullah lauded the efforts of France and President
Macron in support of the Baghdad conference.
Discussions also covered the latest developments in Lebanon,
with the two leaders stressing the importance of continuing joint efforts to
support the stability of Lebanon.
The meeting addressed efforts to reach political solutions
to regional crises.
King Abdullah and Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al
Thani, discussed the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and peoples.
The meeting covered means of expanding cooperation between
Jordan and Qatar, especially in the economic field.
Discussions also addressed efforts to reach political
solutions to regional crises.
The King also on Saturday met with Kuwait Prime Minister
Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah in Baghdad, in a meeting that covered
means of advancing the deep-rooted bilateral ties in various fields.
Discussions also covered the latest regional developments,
foremost of which is the Palestinian cause, with
King Abdullah lauding Kuwait’s
positions in that regard.
The prime minister conveyed the greetings of Kuwait Emir
Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah to His Majesty, and the King asked the
prime minister to convey his greetings to Sheikh Nawaf.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi,
Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan, General Intelligence
Department Director Maj. Gen. Ahmad Husni, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Iraq
Montaser Oklah Alzoubi attended the meetings.
Following the Baghdad conference, His Majesty King Abdullah
returned to Jordan.
