AL-HASAKAH — An
earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 struck the province of Al-Hasakah in
northeastern Syria on Thursday morning, causing no damage or casualties. The
Mediterranean Seismic Center reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth
of 10 kilometers.

Residents of Al-Hasakah felt the earthquake, but there were no reports
of material or human losses resulting from the tremor that hit the city,
Addustour reported.
Northern Syria had experienced a devastating earthquake in February of
last year, resulting in the deaths of approximately 6,000 people and hundreds
of injuries, in addition to extensive damage to infrastructure and facilities
in Syrian territories.
