On March 3, Minister of the Interior Mazen Al-Faraya announced the voluntary return of more than 44,000 Syrians to their country.

In a related development, the Ministry of Interior, in coordination with the relevant authorities, has decided to continue operating the Jaber Border Center with the Syrian Arab Republic around the clock, starting Sunday, March 23, 2025.

This decision follows coordination with the Syrian side and measures to ensure the continued efficient operation of the center, providing logistical and security facilities to ensure smooth movement at the border crossing. With this decision, the operating hours of the Jaber border crossing will align with those of the Al-Omari border crossing with Saudi Arabia.

The decision, which coincides with the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday, is expected to increase traveler movement. It aims to facilitate the departure procedures for travelers and goods transport, reducing waiting times.

It also supports and enhances trade exchange and stimulates the economic movement between Jordan and Syria, as the center is currently witnessing heavy freight and active passenger movement.
