TEL AVIV – Professor Shlomo Sand, a historian
from
Tel Aviv University, asserted that the concept of the Jewish people was
invented in the late 19th century, and that without the catastrophe caused by
the Nazis, the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948 would not have
occurred, RT reported.

Like most other nations worldwide, their
existence is a myth or legend.
He argued that modern nations emerged with the
advent of printing, democracy, schools, and the building of states by nations.
He expressed doubt regarding the Jewish people's existence today.
Shlomo Sand revealed that the notion of the
Jewish people was created in the late 19th century, suggesting it is a myth. He
further stated, "The Jews were never expelled from the ancient Palestinian
land. There is no research study on this subject."
Professor Sand argued that the majority of
Jews who were not religious had no reason to go to Palestine. Many desired to
immigrate to the United States. Jewish migration to Palestine was minimal
before the Holocaust. It was only after World War II, and the catastrophe
brought about by the Nazis, that a massive influx of
Jewish immigrants arrived
in Palestine, making the establishment of Israel in 1948 possible.
Furthermore, he advocated for coexistence
between Palestinians and Israelis, stating that there is no other opportunity
for both peoples to live together in the Middle East. Professor Sand suggested
that the best solution today would be for more Palestinians to become Israeli
citizens, granting them all the legal and civil rights, emphasizing the need
for both nations to coexist in the region.
