Netanyahu stated that the decision was made with the completion of the first phase of the deal and the refusal of Hamas to accept the plan and continue negotiations.
He added: "Israel will not allow a ceasefire without the release of hostages, and if Hamas continues its rejection, there will be further consequences."
For its part, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the Israeli government ordered the military to close all crossings leading to the Gaza Strip.
Israeli Channel 14 revealed that the decision to halt aid shipments to Gaza was made during discussions held by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night.
The Israeli channel noted that the decision was made in coordination with the U.S. side, while Channel 12 reported that Israel stopped the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip hours after the completion of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement.
