TEL AVIV – On Sunday,
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, "The war in Gaza imposes a heavy toll on us, but there
is no alternative,” Khaberni, Jo24 reported.

He pledged to continue the fight "Until we achieve our
goals of eliminating Hamas, recovering the kidnapped, and ensuring that Gaza
does not pose a threat to us." Emphasizing that his government is not
subject to any international pressure.
"I informed President Biden that we will continue
fighting until victory is achieved, and he expressed understanding for
that."
However, Netanyahu faces internal pressure as criticisms
rise from members of his government. Israeli National Security Minister,
Itamar Ben-Gvir, threatened Netanyahu to leave the government if the war is not
resolved with a clear-cut plan.
In an interview broadcasted on the Israeli news network,
Channel 12, Ben-Gvir said, "If there is no
resolution in Gaza, leaving the
government is an option."
He added that Netanyahu adopts a regrettable approach
similar to Knesset member,
Benny Gantz, pointing out that he was against
reaching a ceasefire and allowing Hamas to breathe.
Ben-Gvir continued, "I can leave the government, but as
long as I have influence; I will stay."
Other criticisms include that of the former deputy to the
Israeli Chief of Staff. He told the Israeli newspaper, Maariv, “A government
prioritizing the Iranian threat over the Palestinian one cannot ensure
security. Netanyahu's government ignored that any political solution with the
Arabs should be linked to security.”
“Despite the destruction in Gaza, we appeared as a weak
state that only defends itself with American assistance,” he added “Hamas
achieved a strategic goal by telling Israel, ‘I am the one managing the
conflict.’ [They] entered the war knowing that the scenario of destroying the
southern suburb was possible. We must build a thriving Zionist institution
here, but how will we do that after what has happened? The current approach of
lying means that we will continue to live in a threatened country. We do not tell
the truth to our citizens, and we will not eliminate Hezbollah. Hamas is the
only one capable of releasing the kidnapped, there is no escape from reaching
an agreement with [them].
