GAZA – On Saturday, Al-Ghad reported that the health
infrastructure and services in Rafah, in
southern Gaza, are fragile and unable
to meet the needs of 1.3 million citizens and displaced individuals. The
Israeli occupation continues to target healthcare personnel through
bombings and arrests, resulting in the deaths of dozens.

Additionally, only six functional ambulances remain in the
region. The struggle to operate essential services persists, including
intensive care units and pediatric wards. The risk of epidemics among displaced
people and residents, especially children and the elderly, is a grave concern.
International organizations and human rights advocates urge
the
Israeli occupation to release detained healthcare workers and assist in rebuilding
Gaza’s healthcare system. Additionally, they call for the import of medical
equipment, supplies, and medications, as well as allowing medical teams from
outside Gaza to provide much-needed aid. Patients should also be allowed to
leave the territory for treatment due to resource shortages.
