GAZA –
According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, more than 800,000
residents currently reside in Northern Gaza, representing approximately 152,000 families. This constitutes one-third
of the provinces' population of 1.2 million, with around 400,000 individuals,
seeking refuge in central and southern areas, Ammon News reported.
This
development coincides with renewed Israeli calls for residents in Gaza City and
the northern region to evacuate to the perceived safety of southern Gaza
Valley, with a specified timeframe for evacuation via the Salah al-Din road
which has been deemed as a “death trap” by Gazans, despite Israeli Occupation Forces calling it a “safe rout.”
The bureau's
estimates are based on real-time data collected before and after October 7,
leveraging information from Palestinian communication companies and the
Ministry of Communication.
