RAMALLAH — Palestinian Prime Minister
Mohammad Shtayyeh said on Monday that he had placed the resignation of the Palestinian government in the hands of President
Mahmoud Abbas "in light of the political developments, and to take the necessary measures."

“I submit the government’s resignation to President [Mahmoud Abbas],” Shtayyeh said, adding it comes in the wake of the “developments related to the aggression against the
Gaza Strip and the escalation in the West Bank and Jerusalem.”
Economist, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa is expected to be named as his successor.
