AMMAN — Palestinian Islamic Jihad’s political chief, Mohammad Al-Hindi, said on Saturday evening, "We appreciate the Egyptian efforts that succeeded in achieving a ceasefire agreement."

He added: "We commend the Joint Military Chamber, which served as a nurturing environment for this round and demonstrated the unity of the Palestinian factions during the confrontation."
He affirmed that this agreement reflects the resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of Israeli aggression.
The ceasefire, which was mediated by Egypt, will take effect at 10pm local time, the Egyptian commission in Gaza said.
Sources told Haaretz that while Israel has refused the Islamic Jihad's initial demand to end all targeted assassinations, they are agreeing to a "quiet-for-quiet" deal.
