In a statement on Wednesday, the Palestinian President responded to the U.S. calls for displacement, saying, “We will not allow the violation of our people’s rights, for which we have fought for decades and made enormous sacrifices to achieve. These calls represent a serious violation of international law, and peace and stability in the region will not be achieved without the establishment of the Palestinian state with its capital, Jerusalem, based on the June 4, 1967 borders, under the two-state solution.”

President Abbas added that the Palestinian people will not concede their land, rights, or holy sites, emphasizing that Gaza is an integral part of Palestine, alongside the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem since 1967. He stressed that the legitimate Palestinian rights are non-negotiable, and that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) is the sole legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, entrusted with upholding their principles and making independent decisions regarding their future.

The president also reiterated his appreciation for the steadfast Arab positions against displacement, annexation, and the protection of Palestinian rights, particularly thanking Egypt and Jordan for their stance rejecting displacement and the violation of Palestinian rights. He also expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its rejection of settlement, annexation, and displacement, as well as its commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Palestinian President called on the United Nations Secretary-General and the UN Security Council to take responsibility and take urgent action to protect internationally recognized decisions, safeguard the rights of the Palestinian people, and ensure their right to self-determination and remain on their land. He also called for the ending of Israeli occupation of Palestine’s land, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He emphasized that the Palestinian people and their leadership are committed to international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, which affirms the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with sovereignty over Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem as its eternal capital.
