According to Hala, during his first visit to Jordan since
being appointed a cardinal in the
Catholic Church last September, Pizzaballa
stated that Jordan is wisely moving in two directions through diplomatic
efforts led by King Abdullah II for justice and peace. He commended the support
and assistance extended to the wounded and injured and in Gaza through the
first Jordanian field hospital. He mentioned his previous visit to the
hospital in Gaza and witnessed the charitable and benevolent work it carries out, as
well as the new field hospital.
Pizzaballa mentioned that Pope Francis will receive a
Palestinian popular delegation today,
representing families from Gaza,
including those who were there throughout the past month.
He hoped that this meeting would shed light on the
humanitarian suffering that these people have been experiencing for several
weeks, including the Christians who were killed.
