The Ministry of Education in Syria has initiated an extensive plan to rehabilitate and repair 797 schools across various Syrian provinces. This plan is based on a comprehensive assessment conducted by school building teams in collaboration with local and international organizations.اضافة اعلان

According to statements from the Director of School Buildings at the Ministry, Engineer Mohammad Hanoon, the assessment revealed the urgent need for immediate intervention in these schools. He pointed out that the current efforts are focused on repairing the damaged educational institutions to ensure a safe learning environment for students, as reported by the Syrian Arab News Agency.

The ongoing restoration work is being carried out in several provinces, including 11 schools in Tartous, 3 schools in Latakia, 2 schools in Daraa, 5 schools in Damascus, 9 schools in its rural areas, 15 schools in Aleppo, and 4 schools in Homs. The plan also includes 186 schools in Idlib, which represents the largest share of the targeted areas.

Hanoon emphasized that the ministry, with support from local and international partners, is committed to improving the educational environment and enhancing the quality of education. He regarded these projects as a critical step toward rebuilding the educational sector and providing the necessary conditions to sustain the education process in Syria.

27,000 Educational Facilities Destroyed and in Need of Repair in Syria
The Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Syrian Ministry of Education revealed that approximately 27,000 educational facilities have been either destroyed or are in need of repair across different regions of Syria.

According to initial statistics from the Ministry, 8,000 school buildings have been destroyed and have been classified into three categories:

The first category requires complete rehabilitation, including around 500 schools.
The second category needs major repairs, covering about 2,000 schools.
The third category requires moderate repairs, encompassing approximately 5,500 schools, as reported by the Hashtag website.
