MOSCOW Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday blamed the latest surge of violence in Palestine on the failure of US policy, which he said had sought to monopolize negotiations while ignoring Palestinian interests, according to Reuters. اضافة اعلان

During a visit from Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, Putin said the United States had sought to "monopolize" international efforts at forging peace in the region, and accused Washington of neglecting to seek compromises that would be acceptable to each side.

Putin said the US had ignored the interests of Palestinians, including the need for an independent Palestinian state.

Putin echoed the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov a day earlier who said the West was shortsighted if it believed it could simply condemn attacks against Israel and then hope for an Israeli victory without solving the Palestinian problem itself.
