GAZA
— Abu Obeida, the spokesperson for the
Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the
military wing of Hamas, addressed on Monday a Qatari effort aimed at releasing
Israeli detainees in exchange for the release of 200 Palestinian children and
75 Palestinian women held by Israel.

In a
recorded statement,
Abu Obeida explained, "There was an effort by Qatari
mediators last week to release detainees from the enemy, including women and
children, in exchange for releasing 200 Palestinian children and 75 Palestinian
women—the total number of detainees until November 11, comprising women and
children held by the enemy."
He
noted that Israel requested "the release of one hundred women and children
from the enemy's
detainees in Gaza."
In
response, Hamas informed the mediators that "we can agree to a ceasefire
lasting five days, which includes releasing 50 of the women and children
detained in Gaza, with the possibility of reaching a final number of 70. This
is considering the complexity of the presence of these detainees with multiple
factions and entities.
The ceasefire would encompass a halt to
hostilities and allow the entry of relief and
humanitarian aid for all our
people throughout the Gaza Strip," according to Abu Obeida.
However,
"the enemy continues to procrastinate and evade payment of this
obligation, dismissing not only the lives of Palestinian civilians but also
disregarding the lives of our prisoners," according to
Abu Obeida.
In
this context, he mentioned the killing of "the enlisted prisoner Fa'oul
Asiayani, who was captured alive and recorded an appeal for her release at the
beginning of the war but was killed in an enemy bombardment days ago."
The
Al-Qassam Brigades posted a video of the Israeli enlisted prisoner before her
death, as well as images after her death, according to the brigade's Telegram
account.
Abu
Obeida warned, "We caution the enemy, and anyone concerned with the issue
of prisoners and detainees that the continuation of the aerial and ground
aggression inevitably puts the lives of these prisoners at great risk every
hour, and we have warned before it happened."
