Saudi Arabia, Syria welcome resumption of consular services, flights

AMMAN — Saudi Arabia and Syria welcomed the resumption of consular services and flights between the two countries on Wednesday evening, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a joint press statement was issued at the conclusion of the visit of Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs Faisal Mekdad to Saudi Arabia, in which the minister expressed his country's appreciation for the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia to end the Syrian crisis and its provision of humanitarian and relief aid to those affected by the earthquakes that struck Syria. Mekdad had arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday on a working visit, at the invitation of his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
