The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem stated in a statement that dozens of settlers entered the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, performed provocative Talmudic rituals, and carried out suspicious tours within its premises.

The Waqf also added that the Israeli police intensified their military measures around the Old City of Jerusalem and at the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, obstructing the entry of Palestinians.

Calls from Jerusalem intensified for increasing the presence and i'tikaf (spiritual retreat) at Al-Aqsa Mosque during the last ten days of Ramadan, particularly in light of the escalating threats from the occupation and settlers.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque is subjected to a series of incursions and violations of its sanctity daily, except for Fridays and Saturdays, during this holy month, in an attempt to impose new Judaization facts and to establish full control over the mosque by dividing it both temporally and spatially.
