Several Syrian Security Officers Injured During Security Operation in Damascus
Syrian security forces arrested members of armed groups in the capital, Damascus, on Friday night into Saturday, during an exchange of gunfire in the Al-Qadam neighborhood that resulted in injuries among several security personnel.اضافة اعلان

According to the Syrian news agency SANA, the Director of Damascus Security, Lt. Col. Abdul Rahman Al-Dabbagh, stated:
"During a security operation carried out by the General Security Directorate in the Al-Qadam neighborhood, groups were observed committing assaults on citizens' property."

He added, "Security forces immediately responded in an attempt to arrest them, but the groups opened fire on the officers, resulting in several injuries."

He continued, "After reinforcements were brought into the area, we were able to corner these outlaws in a densely populated alley in the neighborhood. After a brief exchange of fire, all group members were arrested, and their weapons and vehicles were confiscated. They will be referred to the competent judiciary to receive their due punishment."

Separately, the Syrian Ministry of Interior announced on Friday that the General Security Directorate had carried out a coordinated security campaign in several neighborhoods of Latakia Governorate, targeting fugitives and individuals involved in unlawful activities.

According to a statement published by SANA, the ministry said:
"This campaign aims to enhance security and stability, address violations, pursue those involved in illegal activities, and seize unlicensed weapons, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain public order and protect citizens."
