OCCUPIED PALESTINE – The
Consumer Price Index (inflation) in Palestine recorded a sharp increase of 2.57 percent during the
last month of October compared to September 2023. This surge is attributed to
the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 39th consecutive day,
according to surveys conducted by the Central Statistical Office.

As reported by Al-Mamlaka TV, prices of
dried vegetables increased by 25.48 percent, potatoes by 19.59 percent, fresh fruits
by 9.97 percent, wheat flour by 9.36 percent, eggs by 7.70 percent, fresh
vegetables by 7.61 percent, vegetable oils by 3.15 percent, and rice by 2.27
percent.
When comparing prices during October 2023 with
the same month in 2022, the data indicates a 7.21 percent increase in the
Consumer Price Index in Palestine, with an increase of 14.59 percent in Gaza,
5.38 percent in the
West Bank, and 4.69 percent in Jerusalem.
