AMMAN – The military and strategic expert,
Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi, stated that the statements made by the
spokesperson for the Israeli army, Daniel Haggari, contradict what Abu Obaida,
the spokesperson for Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas,
announced.

Duwairi explained on Al-Jazeera that the
scenes broadcast by the Qassam Brigades showing the destruction of Israeli
vehicles and tanks reach every household in the world, giving them significant
credibility. In contrast, he mentioned that there is no match between Haggari's
statements and what is happening on the ground, and his statements are not
supported by any videos that confirm their credibility or are documented.
Regarding the new footage broadcast by the
Qassam Brigades, Duwairi praised the resilience of the fighters and their
exploitation of the first opportunity to strike the vehicles, considering the
nature of the battle, the geography of the land, the distribution of tunnels,
and the training of the fighters.
He emphasized the need to exploit the
"first opportunity" as one of the strengths of the Qassam Brigades,
which should not be abandoned, pointing out that the fighters are the ones with
the first opportunity.
He commended the coordination observed in the
Qassam Brigades' actions, citing the example of hitting an Israeli tank with a
"Yassin 105" shell while his comrades continued firing machine guns.
He highlighted the necessity of seizing the "first opportunity," as
it is one of the strengths of the Qassam Brigades, emphasizing that it should
not be abandoned.
Regarding the destruction of 136 Israeli
military vehicles, either entirely or partially, according to the Qassam
Brigades, Duwairi explained that these numbers are equivalent to a
"brigade + battalion" and include bulldozers, armored personnel
carriers, and tanks. He indicated that the first usually carries two persons,
the second 11 persons, and the third between 9 and 10 persons, so the average
is around 5 persons.
He calculated that this, through a simple
calculation, confirms that the Israeli ground forces suffered a minimum of 450
casualties through the destruction of vehicles, contrary to the casualties they
suffered in sniper operations, direct confrontations, and inter-battle
skirmishes. Meanwhile, the Israeli army acknowledged the death of 34 soldiers
since the start of its ground war inside the Gaza Strip.
Regarding the launch of Apache helicopters
firing missiles at Gaza from a distance, he noted that the Palestinian
resistance resorted to the "Kornet" missiles designed for armored
vehicles, causing these helicopters to stay away for fear of being hit.
