AMMAN — The activities of the senior officials meeting
preparatory for the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League (AL)
commenced in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the participation of the Syrian
delegation, as reported by the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).

The meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, and
representatives from various Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Libya, and
Iraq, as well as officials from Morocco, Oman, and the assistant
secretary-general for Economic Affairs in the General Secretariat of the Arab
League, are in attendance.
Syria's delegation consists of Assistant Minister of Economy
and Foreign Trade for International Affairs, Rania Ahmed, Ambassador Riyad
Abbas, Director of Arab Affairs Department, Director of International Relations
Anas Al-Bikai, and Counselor Ihsan Rumman from the Office of the Foreign Minister.
In a significant development, foreign ministers from Arab
League member states recently voted in favor of reinstating Syria's membership,
marking the end of its suspension that lasted over a decade.
The decision was made during a meeting held at the Arab
League's headquarters in Cairo.
