DOHA – On Tuesday,
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs,
indicated that he expects the Middle East conflicts to escalate, notably the
Israeli war on Gaza and the situation in the Red Sea.

He went on to say that the situation in the
Red Sea is the
most critical since it impacts not only the region but the entire world. The
military option will not resolve the crisis in the Red Sea, Al-Ghad reported.
Alternative routes to the Red Sea are less efficient, he
continued, and temporary solutions are not enough to address the
war in Gaza.
“In our region, there is a
ready recipe for escalation everywhere, and proxies emerge each time,” he said.
He also pointed out that many countries do not believe in
the feasibility of reconstruction, despite the frequent escalations in Gaza.
There is no “magical solution” to return to the pre-
October 7 situation without
genuine efforts to resolve the two-state issue.
Regarding Iran and the Gulf states, he highlighted that they
are neighbors and they understand how to create common ground through
discussion. If Iran and the regional countries reach an agreement, there is
great potential for impacting security.
