YORK — The United Nations Human Rights Commission spokesperson, Ravina
Shamdasani, revealed that Israel barred
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk, from entering and
denied his visit to the Palestinian territories.

Despite Türk's request, he managed to communicate with civil
society representatives from those areas. The
UNHCR head initiated a five-day Middle East tour on Monday,
emphasizing the need for access to Palestinian territories and Gaza, Amad
reported.
Last week, his office stated that Israel "commits various war
crimes in Gaza, but only the competent court can determine if it rises to the
level of genocide." The UN Secretary-General
called for an immediate
Gaza conflict ceasefire, warning of it becoming a
"graveyard for children." In response, Israeli UN representative
Gilad Erdan criticized Guterres, claiming he had lost his moral compass.
