YORK — In a letter on Thursday, to the president of the
United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), the Commissioner-General of the
United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) Phillipe Lazzari stated that the agency had reached a
breaking point. The letter stated “It is with deep regret that I inform you
today that the agency has reached a breaking point with Israel’s repeated calls
to dismantle it and
freeze donor funding in the face of unprecedented
humanitarian needs,” Al-Ghad reported.
