WASHINGTON — The U.S.
Department of Defense (Pentagon)
acknowledged on Monday that the number of
civilians who lost their lives in Gaza is in the thousands, although they did not provide a specific figure. This
statement comes after
U.S. President Joe Biden expressed doubts about the
accuracy of the Palestinian death toll in the region.

According to the Pentagon’s spokesperson, he said “Regarding
civilian casualties in Gaza... we know that the numbers are in the thousands,”
Al Mamlaka TV reported.
Last month, Biden stated that he "
doesn't trust the accuracy of the death toll announced by the Palestinians" in the Gaza
Strip. Following this, the Ministry of Health in Gaza published the names of
thousands of casualties. Meanwhile, the Ministry is now reporting that the
latest casualties are over 10,000 since October 7.
