WASHINGTON
– Axios reported that the Biden administration has granted Israel a
deadline to sign a letter committing to international law when using US
weapons.

According
to US and Israeli officials, this deadline expires in mid-March and includes
Israel allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza, Khaberni reported.
If
Israel does not provide the assurances by the specified deadline, the transfer
of US weapons to the country will be halted.
This
requirement comes after some Democratic senators expressed concern over
Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. The new policy emphasizes accountability
and alignment with both values and interests in US security assistance.
