US vetoes resolution for ceasefire in Gaza

NEW YORK — The United States used its veto power to drop the draft UN Security Council resolution for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Friday.اضافة اعلان

The resolution was supported by 13 member states, while Britain abstained from voting. The resolution was submitted by the UAE, on behalf of a number of countries. So far more than 17,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel. 

The US had said that the time was not right to support a ceasefire resolution.
