According to Al-Quds Press, the UN-affiliated program explained in a statement that "hundreds of thousands of displaced individuals in Gaza are crowded into shelters and overcrowded hospitals, facing food and water shortages" due to the destructive war launched by Israel 48 days ago on the enclave.

It noted that "the sharp escalation of the conflict in Gaza has placed all residents in desperate and catastrophic conditions." The statement continued: "We need to stop the hostilities and secure access to food and fuel so that we can carry out our operations inside Gaza as quickly as possible."
