The World Food Programme (WFP) has emphasized the necessity of maintaining the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stating that it cannot be reversed.
In a post on its X platform account on Saturday, the WFP explained that "after 6 weeks of the ceasefire in Gaza, our teams were able to reach 1 million people across the strip by restoring supply distribution points, reopening bakeries, and expanding cash assistance," pointing out that the path for safe and sustainable humanitarian access is clear.

The programme stressed that the ceasefire must continue, saying: "It cannot be reversed."
Approximately 1.5 million residents of the Gaza Strip are facing dire conditions, as they continue to suffer from forced displacement due to the genocide and widespread destruction inflicted by Israeli occupation forces on their homes over more than 15 months of aggression.
With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened, and residents face significant challenges in securing food and water, further exacerbating their suffering.
