GAZA — The
World Health Organization (WHO) conveyed profound concern on Friday about the
escalation of diseases in Gaza. Continuous Israeli airstrikes over the past
weeks have resulted in overcrowding in shelters, accompanied by severe
shortages of food and clean water.

Peppercorn, the organization's representative in the Palestinian territories,
stated, "We are deeply concerned about the spread of diseases as the
winter season approaches." He noted that over 70,000 cases of acute
respiratory infections and more than 44,000 cases of severe diarrhea have been
identified in the densely populated area, emphasizing that the actual numbers
far exceed expectations, Hala News reported.
