The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has warned of a worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, stressing that nearly two million people, the majority of whom are displaced, are currently living without any source of income and are entirely dependent on humanitarian aid to meet their basic food needs.

In a series of statements issued over the past hours, the WFP cautioned on its official website about what it described as an "increasing threat" to hundreds of thousands of residents in Gaza, as food stocks dwindle sharply, raising alarms over an imminent humanitarian catastrophe.
The program noted that this dire situation coincides with the continued closure of border crossings, which is completely preventing the entry of essential food supplies into the besieged territory. It stressed that Gaza is in urgent need of immediate, sustained, and uninterrupted food flows to avoid a complete collapse in food security.
The WFP also warned of grave consequences if the current conditions persist, pointing out that Palestinian civilians in Gaza are already facing catastrophic humanitarian conditions and a severe shortage of all basic necessities.
