TEL AVIV – During this past week, the truce
deal between the Palestinian resistance and Israel dominated discussions in
Israeli media channels. Analysts, officials, and former security personnel have
focused on analyzing the personality of
Yahya Al-Sinwar, the head of Hamas in
Gaza, Al-Ghad reported.

Sinwar is no stranger to the Israeli public.
Mika Kobi, a former officer in the Shin Bet, who spent hours with Sinwar during
his imprisonment, claims to know Sinwar well. He stated, “I have read about
him, seen him, sat with him, and shared meals with him. I am familiar with his
behavior.”
On another note, Channel 14’s anchor
questioned what Israel should do to unravel the mystery of Sinwar. Betty Lahat,
a former warden of Hasharon Prison and head of the Israel Prison Service's
Intelligence Department, responded firmly, “Israel must eliminate this man,
nothing else. There should be no negotiations.”
For context, Sinwar was one of over a thousand
prisoners freed in exchange for Israeli soldier
Gilad Shalit in 2011.
