WASHINGTON —
US President Joe Biden remarked Tuesday that Israel’s prime minister must alter his hardline government as support for the country’s military campaign diminishes amid the heavy bombardment of Gaza.

Addressing Democratic donors in Washington, Biden stated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces a "tough decision,” CNN reported.
“This is the most conservative government in Israel’s history,” Biden noted, emphasizing that the Israeli government “does not want a two-state solution.”
Biden expressed concern that
Israel was losing global support, urging Netanyahu to "strengthen and change" the government for a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
These remarks represent some of Biden’s most candid on the ongoing conflict. While publicly supporting Netanyahu, he has increasingly shown divergence as civilian casualties rise.
In phone calls,
Biden has urged Netanyahu to minimize civilian casualties, but officials acknowledge a "gap" between Israel’s intentions and realities on the ground.
