BEIJING, Jordan News Agency, Petra — A 5.1 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck Xinjiang region northwest of
China, Saturday morning.

The China Earthquake Network Monitoring Centre said that the earthquake epicenter was observed at a depth of 7km.
Initial reports did not indicate any human or material losses caused by the earthquake.
Xinjiang is considered a center of seismic activity and is hit by several earthquakes annually.
