AMMAN — Dutch Foreign Minister Sigrid Kaag resigned in light of how she handled the Afghan
evacuation crisis last month, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Kaag is the first Western government official to resign after the mayhem that followed the Taliban takeover.
Kaag faced condemnation from Dutch MPs, stating that the government was too slow to react which caused a significant number of Afghans to be left behind when they should have been able to flee.
The MP’s passed a motion of censure against her.
Kaag said she stands by her actions but accepted the MPs' verdict.
