Responding to European journalists in Brussels
on Thursday, Mamer said, "The European Commission cannot condemn the
Israeli blockade of the
Gaza Strip, including the cessation of water,
electricity, and fuel supplies to all the inhabitants of the sector, Khaberni
reported.
An Italian journalist at the conference
mentioned that the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen,
accused Russia in October 2022 of carrying out strikes on Ukrainian
infrastructure, describing them as "war crimes."
This was followed by a question about whether
the
European Commission is prepared to consider the cutting off of water,
electricity, and fuel to the women and children in Gaza as a "purely
terrorist act."
Mamer replied, stating that von der Leyen's
statement was made "in a very specific context."
