AMMAN— The first in-person Group of 20 summit since the coronavirus
pandemic kicks off Saturday in Rome to address the global economic recovery,
rising energy costs and supply chain problems, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.

According to the AFP, G20 leaders will tackle the existential threat of
climate change, regional conflicts in Afghanistan, Libya and Sudan and other
issues. Bilateral meetings on the summit’s sidelines will also be held, leading
to major international agreements.
Most of the heads of state and government who are in Rome will head to
UK’s Glasgow on Sunday as soon as the G20 is over.
The Group of Twenty (G20) is a collection of twenty of the world’s
largest economies. Formed in 1999, it was conceived as a bloc that would bring
together the most important industrialized and developing economies to discuss
international economic and financial stability.
