Several factors contribute to Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan's success, in his first 100 days in office, as far as I could glean from several political, economic, and social circles in the country, and establish a positive impression about his government's performance.اضافة اعلان

In line with Royal directives, and driven by his determination, Hassan is keen to make a difference in the services provided to people, and improve the business environment to eventually boost the economic performance of the country overall.

One of the factors is the clarity of his governmental approach, which is based on the national modernization plans encompassing the political, economic, and administrative tracks. From day one in office, Hassan declared these plans as his government's roadmap. "These plans did not start with this government, nor will they end with it," is a point Hassan reiterates to his ministerial team over and over again to stress that these plans transcend governments to form a national project.

Another factor is Hassan’s hands-on leadership style, which is evident in his extensive fieldwork nationwide. By mid-December, he had conducted 37 unannounced visits to various locations in governorates, and implemented 71 decisions—26 completed and 45 ongoing.

This proactive engagement demonstrates the government's seriousness about addressing service-and-business-related issues, thus bolstering public trust in its performance.

A third factor is the government's intensive workflow across multiple fronts. Ministers and their teams appear to operate with constant urgency to meet expectations and tight deadlines set for them by the prime minister, who does not rely solely on reports but takes a hands-on approach on the ground. As stated in his government's policy statement: "The government and the private sector are partners in implementing the country's Economic Modernization Vision."

In a short period, the government has taken over 40 economic decisions aimed at meeting citizens' needs, creating job opportunities, improving the business environment, and launching mega projects crucial for combating poverty and unemployment.

Another factor is the premier's firmness to remove obstacles to progress. This is evident in his emphasis on follow-up, accountability, and transparency. With nearly four decades in public service, Hassan is well acquainted with the challenges to public performance, whether they stem from rigid administrative mindsets or other reasons.

A fifth factor is Hassan’s belief in the need for the government to be close to people and meet their needs, which places officials, regardless of rank, under public scrutiny that leads to self-discipline.

As a PM who believes in strictly applying administrative principles essential for the country’s advancement, Hassan is unlikely to tolerate any team member—be it a minister or staff— acting in a way opposed to the tenets of sound management. As such, the continuation of any team member will be contingent solely on his/her performance and achievement, in line with both the leadership's and the public's aspirations as Jordan takes its first steps in its second centennial.

At the end of the day, it is the responsibility of the government's officials and public servants to manage the nation's affairs with utmost dedication and integrity to meet our expectations.
