Since 2011, Syria has experienced widespread unrest that escalated into a prolonged conflict, impacting the entire region.اضافة اعلان

As a direct neighbor of Syria, Jordan has faced notable repercussions on its security and stability.

However, there are ongoing doubts and questions about the extent of this impact, as well as the reasons for closely linking events in Syria to Jordan's security and stability.

The key question remains: are these concerns justified, or are they exaggerated?

Let me connect the dots:First, Jordan shares a long land border with Syria, stretching over 375 kilometers.

This makes Syria’s security situation an undeniable factor influencing Jordan.

Over the past years, we have witnessed instances of arms and drug smuggling, as well as the crossing of armed groups, which have continuously challenged the Kingdom's security.

This has increased pressure on the army and security forces, prompting them to enhance their readiness to maintain the Kingdom’s safety and stability—a task they have managed successfully, thanks to God.

Second, Jordan has hosted approximately 1.3 million Syrian refugees since the start of the crisis, imposing economic and social pressures on its infrastructure. Despite international efforts to support Jordan in carrying this significant burden, Jordan has managed to sustain it, a feat even major powers might struggle with.

Jordan has stood as a pillar of support and solidarity for its Syrian brothers during their crisis.

In terms of terrorism, Syria’s conflict saw the emergence of extremist groups such as ISIS, which repeatedly attempted to target Jordan as a cornerstone of stability in the region.

Undermining or destabilizing Jordan would mean destabilizing the entire region.

However, Jordan stood firm, like a solid rock that shattered every terrorist attempt, thanks to God and the immense efforts of the Arab Army and security forces. They bolstered the country’s security framework, preventing these groups from infiltrating its borders or creating internal chaos.

Thus, I ask again, to those with doubts or questions about Jordan’s capabilities: why this doubt?

The evidence is clear. Over the past decade, Jordan has proven its ability to maintain its security and stability despite surrounding crises.

Its security and political institutions have demonstrated exceptional efficiency in managing these challenges.

Therefore, linking Syria’s events to Jordan's stability, as some suggest, is an overstatement.

Jordan is a deeply rooted state capable of safeguarding its stability, even amidst the turbulent circumstances in the region.

As for my analysis of Syria’s situation and its future, I would say the situation remains complex, and it is too early to predict or speculate.

Despite the relative calm in some conflict areas recently, Syria's future appears uncertain.

Developments depend on the balance of internal and external forces.

Political solutions require a comprehensive settlement, including national reconciliation, along with adequate international support for reconstruction and achieving stability across Syria.
