After the Kazan meeting in Russia in October last year, 13 new countries were invited to join the BRICS group of countries, and 9 countries-Thailand, Belarus, Bolivia, Cuba, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Uganda and Malaysia-were accepted as full members, for a total of 18 countries.

What does it mean?
It means that the group of BRICS countries will have a population of 50% of the world's population and a gross output of 40%, all in light of pre-emptive threats from the next president of the United States, Trump, that he will impose taxes on all exports of BRICS countries by 100% if the dollar is eliminated in trade transactions between the group, either by issuing a new currency or dealing in the local currencies of those countries.
At the beginning of this year, a phone call was held between the presidents of the two largest BRICS countries, Russia and China, during which the two presidents insisted on strengthening strategic relations between them, especially economic ones.
The question arises, Why are countries now rushing to BRICS? To answer this question, there are several reasons, including:
First: the Western policy, led by the United States, which imposed economic sanctions on Russia during the Ukraine war by seizing assets estimated at 300 billion dollars.
Second: the economic harassment of some countries of the world by controlling their economies through the unjustified devaluation of their currencies and the exploitation of their debts by the International Monetary Fund as a political pressure card to support Western positions on unfair international issues.
Third: the existence of a development bank for the BRICS countries, which will work to lend to the BRICS countries without political conditions.
Fourth: new fears through Trump's statements that he may work to occupy the Panama Canal and possibly expand north to his neighbor Canada and the island of Greenland, all this will increase doubts among the world countries, especially Western allies.
Fifth: the endless Western support for Israel and double standards, despite its committing massacres in Gaza and its non-compliance with UN resolutions and the decisions of the International Criminal Courts, and this will also affect business dealings with the West and economic alliances in the future and the fear of taking advantage of allied countries with it .
On the other hand, the question arises :Are the current BRICS countries in complete agreement? Answer: not as it should be because some important member states such as India still have reservations from China, and India has now indicated that it does not want the BRICS countries to mint a new currency, but to deal in dollars, and I wrote an article a year ago entitled: "Is the BRICS shaking through the Indian Gate".
The United States is flirting with India by opening up trade with it and strengthening it economically to replace China in the near future, and we have seen the US project proposed two years ago, the Spice Route, which will serve India and will be an alternative to the Chinese Belt and Road project, but the US project remained locked Because of the Gaza war, the United States and the West are suffering economically from high indebtedness and modest growth rates.
In conclusion, what will succeed economic alliances is the credibility of the great countries that will manage those alliances away from political goals and not exploit those countries and pressure them to achieve those goals.
