AMMAN — Mother of five, Maha Hawatmeh Imseeh established Soapure.mx, after two of her children who suffered dry skin tried many international organic and medicinal products, and after visiting many doctors to improve their condition. Lately, all the products stopped working.اضافة اعلان

Imseeh’s family owned a farm that had many organic products, such as olive oil and coconut oil, this encouraged her to try and make organic soap without thinking that this could become her career.

“When we tried the soap, I noticed the change and the improvement on my children’s skin, it was not as dry as it used to be. Since then, I started to gift my product to my friend and family,” Imseeh told Jordan News.

The encouragement of her family and friends and their love of her products pushed her to establish Soapure.mx in 2020 as a home-based busines, which specializes in making vegan, natural and handcrafted soap that do not contain harmful chemicals.

Imseeh describes making soaps as a kind of meditation, and she pours a lot of love and passion into her products. “I love what I do from all of my heart, as I started doing it and still do it for my family and the people I love the most,” she said.

She considers her soaps artworks, because each product is unique even if they have similar ingredients she tries to add a touch of uniqueness to each one. She said that soaps are food for the skin, her products are beneficial, nutritional and at the same time look nice.

Due to her love of nature and love for animals, Imseeh decided to take a path where she can produce soaps without harming other creatures. Her mission is to try to make all of her products vegan, cruelty-free and to make them chemical-free as much as she can to make them safe to use.

The honey she uses in her products is extracted in a cruelty-free way from her family farm. “It is easier for me to use ingredients that are more available, organic and vegan ingredients in Jordan are limited. Animal products are full of hormones which are harmful and will cause my products to lose their value,” Imseeh said.

She aims to spread awareness regarding the benefits of organic, natural, environmentally-friendly products, so people may know the difference between different products and know what suits them more.

Soapure.mx is not limited to making soap, the store also sells handmade skin products, tanning oil, and scrubs. “Healing salve is a product I made for myself because I always suffered from pain in my neck, shoulder, and jaws,” Imseeh said.

Her physical therapist used to use Vaseline, which Imseeh knew was bad. “So I asked him to use my product and he loved it and gave me some advice on making the product. Now he is using my healing salve with other clients,” she said.

People may find Soapure.mx products expensive, and may even decide to use other products that are more easily available on the market, Imseeh said. “They can find soaps on the market, but these soaps would not solve their problems and they are not similar to my products,” she said.

Her profit margin is minimal, most raw materials she uses are from abroad because it is hard to find what she wants in Jordan. “When comparing the prices of my products with their long-term benefits, people will notice that they are not as expensive as they think,” Imseeh said.

She advises people to read about the importance of taking care of their skin as it is the largest organ in the human body and they have to pay attention to what they eat and what they apply on their skin.

One of the challenges she faced when she first opened was the fact that she works at home, and people did not know how busy she was and wanted to visit and hang out. Another challenge was during the COVID-19 pandemic when her children were studying at home, dividing her attention between her business and her kids.

Feedback from her clients was positive about the excellent results they got after using her products.
